About the Organization

What is WICFA?

The World Insulated Concrete Form Association (WICFA) is the first unified, nonprofit trade association representing the entire ICF ecosystem — from installers, builders, and engineers to distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers.

Founded by Trevor Brown and Heather Herring Brown of the Build With ICF podcast, WICFA is officially formed as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, modeled after the National Association of Home Builders. It's built by industry professionals, for industry professionals.

With the ICF industry reaching into over 100 countries and growing demand driven by disaster resilience, energy efficiency, and affordability, the time for a unified industry voice is now.

How WICFA Operates

Four Pillars of WICFA

Promotion & PR

Amplifying ICF's story in disaster-resilient housing conversations and national media — CNN, Fox News, CNBC. When the next natural disaster hits, WICFA will be there showing why ICF is the answer.

Advocacy & Lobbying

Working with Capitol Hill lobbyists, state legislators, and insurance industry advocates to make ICF construction the standard for resilient, affordable, and insurable homes across the country.

Education & Certification

Launching WICFA-certified installer training with cross-brand reciprocity, continuing education credits for architects and engineers, and monthly webinars for members.

Industry Collaboration

Building one sandbox where every ICF professional — installer, distributor, manufacturer, or supplier — plays well together. No trash-talking. Rising tide, rising boats.

"I believe 100% that there are people who will get into the ICF industry in 2026 that will be considered pioneers twenty years from now. We are literally on the cusp of this."
— Trevor Brown, WICFA Co-Founder & Build With ICF Podcast

Our Commitment

Why ICF Near Me Is an Early WICFA Supporter

We built ICF Near Me to be the neutral, contractor-side of the ICF industry — the place homeowners go when they need a vetted installer, not a manufacturer's sales funnel. WICFA is doing the same work at the association level: one directory, one certification standard, one advocacy voice instead of a dozen competing ones. That's why we joined as a founding supporter instead of waiting to see how it played out.

  • Public member directory connecting ICF installers, distributors, and accessories suppliers nationwide
  • WICFA-certified installer program with cross-brand reciprocity — one qualified-installer badge that means more, industry-wide
  • Manufacturer-neutral referrals — we point homeowners to the right contractor for their project, not the one paying for placement
  • A single, unified voice on Capitol Hill and with insurers, instead of every brand lobbying alone

Common Questions

WICFA, Answered

What is WICFA?

WICFA (World Insulated Concrete Form Association) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade association representing the entire ICF industry — installers, builders, engineers, distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers. It was founded by Trevor Brown and Heather Herring Brown of the Build With ICF podcast and is modeled after the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), with which it's affiliated.

How much does WICFA membership cost?

WICFA offers three membership tiers: DIY & Enthusiast at $100 per quarter (1 seat), Professional Member at $500 per year (up to 5 seats), and Manufacturer at $2,500 per year (up to 25 seats). All memberships are tax-deductible under WICFA's 501(c)(6) status.

Who can join WICFA?

Anyone connected to the ICF industry can join — homeowners and DIY builders, contractors and installers, distributors and suppliers, and ICF block manufacturers. Each tier is scoped to that audience, from a single DIY seat up to a 25-seat manufacturer team membership.

Is ICF Near Me officially part of WICFA?

ICF Near Me is a founding early supporter of WICFA, not the association itself. We're a manufacturer-neutral ICF contractor directory that joined WICFA from day one because a unified industry voice benefits every homeowner and contractor who uses our site. For official membership, join directly at WICFA.org.

What are the new WICFA community forums?

In 2026, WICFA launched community forums, including a dedicated DIY ICF Forum, where owner-builders, contractors, and homeowners can ask questions, learn from installer trainings and best practices, and find upcoming events on the WICFA Public Calendar.

How do I become a WICFA sponsor?

WICFA sponsorship tiers — Concrete ($5,000/year, limited to 2 seats), Gold ($2,500/year, 4 slots), and Silver ($1,000/year, 10 slots) — are open for manufacturers and suppliers seeking top-tier visibility. Contact WICFA directly at WICFA.org to reserve your seat today.
